We Can Only Be Loved
I can love you—the amazing parts, the insecure parts, the parts that feel shameful. I can love all of those and, through that love, I can encourage and inspire you to heal, to expand, to reach for new ways of being that are in alignment with who you truly are. Love does mean acceptance but it doesn’t have to stop there.
The people who focus on, who characterize you by, or who simply accept the state of your life as it is are usually not the ones who are going to help you move it to where you want it to be. The ones who want to help will focus on the possibilities over the limitations. The ones who want to help will forgive you and make you feel at ease. The ones who want to help will remind you of your greatness.
Humans cannot be saved or fixed or grown by others, they can only be loved.
