The Potency Of Now
Life is so short and time moves so quickly. And yet we spend so much of it reflecting on the past and hoping for the future. There are a million different lives we could’ve lived and there are a million more we might live, but none of that matters. The life that actually matters is unfolding and happening right now.
We like to think we have years, days, even hours to do something. But you never know when it’ll be the last time you do something, go somewhere, or see someone. Any moment could be the last. This isn’t intended to be scary—it’s fact and it’s a reminder of the ephemerality of life and the knowledge that all things must end. Remembering this can allow us to have a greater appreciation for what is happening right in front of us. And what’s happening is fathomless and formative and fleeing.
Forever should never be the goal; you don’t have forever. But you do have now.
Appreciate the potency of now.
